POCHETTE 2021.
Cement, Milagros.40 x 13 x 13 cm.
Made as a commission from artist Romain Sarrot for the show “For Some Bags Under the Eyes” at Gallery Sans Titre (2016) in December 2021, this sculpture takes the shape of a pochette surprise (surprise sleeve) but made of heavy cement. The masturbating female character and ears details are a combination of brass elements (Milagros are ex-votos found in a church shop on the Zocallo in Mexico City) and operate as a provocative-protective figure.
The white hanging system has been made by Sarrot as a scenography gesture.

GRIS-GRIS 2019.
Cement, Milagros. 60 x 50 x 4 cm.
This sculpture is the start of a series of objects made out of casted cement. The brass elements are Milagros ex-votos found in a church shop on the Zocallo in Mexico City.
The architectural aspect of the cement slab combined with symbols of protection -the curtain which hides and the esoteric charms – give this piece a powerful yet soothing presence.
