Back from the holiday.
A series of South Africa holiday's pictures.
On every picture there's the same lady who turns her back to the lens, like she was indifferent to the photograph that is beeing accomplished. Is she fascinated by the frame she's observing? Is she angry at this photographer who is following her everywhere? This lady without a face keeps her mystery for herself. From this spectral presence full of ambiguity is born all the interest of this project edited by the young artist Pauline Beaudemont. Former student at ECAL in Switzerland, this frenchy has digged out this 5 bucks treasure in a trift store in Lausanne.
"The photo album is the very last thing one gives to the Salvation Army. To get rid of it means in general that the owners are dead or that the familly wants to chuck it out. So there's no problem of copyrights."
Several months were needed to the artist to discover the disturbing potential of this holiday story that was smothered under a stack of un-interesting shots.
